TEETH BONDING IN CHARLESTON, SC

Dr. Hudgens is an experienced cosmetic dentist in Charleston, SC. With over 25+ years of experience, he can provide you with exceptional dental care, including teeth bonding. Teeth bonding allows Dr. Hudgens to address small imperfections on your teeth that may be impacting the overall uniformity of your smile.

WHY CHOOSE DENTAL BONDING?

Dental bonding can treat many of the same conditions as porcelain veneers but is a more economical solution. This is also because it’s a temporary solution, while veneers are permanent. The bonding material is malleable, and we mold it to the shape of your tooth to cover it. We can also mold it to fill in the parts of your tooth that have chipped or cracked. This makes it a treatment that’s easy to personalize and ensures it fits your needs perfectly.

Because it’s inexpensive and temporary, almost anyone is eligible for dental bonding treatment. Even children can get dental bonding because it’s a temporary solution. If they’ve damaged a tooth that’s not permanent, bonding allows them to get back their full tooth until it falls out and the permanent tooth replaces it. It’s a treatment that’s effective for mouths that are growing and changing.

Bonding is also easy to remove or replace. If you decide that you don’t want the bonding anymore or that you’d rather have a permanent solution, we can remove the material from your teeth. If the material comes off unintentionally, it’s a quick fix in our office. Bonding usually only takes one short office visit to complete.

WHAT TO EXPECT: TEETH BONDING

A cosmetic consultation is often needed before Dr. Hudgens offers you a treatment plan. The consultation ensures that your teeth, gums, and jawbone are in otherwise good condition beyond your cosmetic concerns.

During the tooth bonding appointment, the resin material will be applied to your dental imperfections to cover them discreetly. Some enamel removal may be required to make space for the bonding material. Dental imperfections like minor chips, stains, or gaps can be addressed using teeth bonding.

Once the resin material is applied to your teeth, it is hardened using ultraviolet light. Then, it is shaped down to ensure that it does not interfere with your bite pattern. Usually completed within one appointment, the bonding process is very similar to the dental filling process, except that it addresses cosmetic concerns instead of tooth decay.

When you leave our office, your smile should look and feel brand new again.
